Special Olympics has announced that the Spring Games Track and Field Meet will be held this year on Saturday, April 25, at Hoffman Estates High School. Immanuel will once again host the Hospitality Tent! This will be our 29th year! Praise the Lord!
Special Olympics Illinois’ Mission
Provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Volunteers Needed!
We need 35-45 adults and students to work the Hospitality Tent to help greet our guests, and also help prepare and serve healthy snacks during one of the following three shifts:
HOSPITALITY TENT HOURS
Setup & Serve: 7:30 am -10:00 am.
Serve: 10:00 am -12:00 pm.
Serve & Close: 12:00 pm -2:00 p.m.
Besides adult and high-school volunteers, we invite 4th-8th-grade students! This will count towards service hour requirements.
Donate Snacks
Healthy snacks and beverages are needed for the athletes, coaches and their families. Granola bars, cucumbers, oranges, apples, carrots, peppers, celery, cauliflower and broccoli are needed. Snacks may be brought to the Immanuel office April 21-23.
